Architectural Ensemble of the Rumyantsev and the Paskevich

Architectural complex in Gomel is one of the best historical monuments and museums of Belarus. At the very beginning it was created as a country estate, its former owners were the Rumyancev and the Paskevich, the families of noted commanders and statesmen. Thanks to these families a unique natural-architectural complex (XVIII - XIX) appeared on a high picturesque bank of the Sozh River.

The complex includes a palace, St. Peter and Pavel Cathedral, family chapel and burial-vault of the Paskevich, “Winter garden”, a viewing tower and a wonderful park. It is a landscape park with the elements of romanticism. This complex is considered to be a visiting card of Gomel.
