Pinsk

Pinsk is one of the oldest Belarusian towns. It plays an important role in the life of Polesya. Due to its advantageous geographical situation -  at the river junction, which flow into the Baltic and Black sea - Pinsk was the place where many cultures met. Nowadays as a result of these meetings we can see unforgettable couloring of this place

Pinsk is situated  in Brest region. The first mentioning of it dates back to 1097. The history of Pinsk is closely connected with the Pena River.

There are plenty of architectural monuments in the historical center of the town. They are: the Jesuitical collegiums of the XVII century ( now in this building there is a choreography school and the Museum of Belarusian Polesye; the ensemble of the Minorite monastery (XVII-XVIII centuries); Varvarinskaya church (1786) , the building of former Bernarbinsky monastery and Karl Baromey orthodox church which was built in the XVIII century.

Guests of Pinsk have a unique chance to get acquainted with all these ancient historical buildings. Moreover Pinsk is a wonderful place for the rest. Many musical festivals, concerts of modern, classic and folk music are regularly held.  On the territory of Pinsk there is a large park.
