The second festival of Belarus weapon “Our Grunwald”
The second festival of Belarus weapon “Our Grunwald” will hold in Museum complex “ Dudutki” from July 30th till August 1st, 2010. Museum complex with developed infrastructure can accept 8000 persons each day. The program of the festivals includes: 1. Theatrical groups; 2. Poets, minstrels, singers of an author's song on historical and heroic themes; 3. Knights’ tournament will turn to the independent festival of acrobatic groups; 4. Music concerts. The National holiday dedicated to the Grunwald fight (600 years ago)
The National holiday dedicated to the Grunwald fight (600 years ago) will be spent on June 26-27th, 2010 in Novogrudok. The Institute of history of national academy of Science organizes Scientific conference or summit. Historical facts: The Battle of Grunwald (or 1st Battle of Tannenberg) took place on July 15, 1410 with the Kingdom of Poland and the Grand Duchy of Lithuania, led by the king Jogaila (Władysław II Jagiełło), ranged against the knights of the Teutonic Order, led by the Grand Master Ulrich von Jungingen. The engagement in the Polish-Lithuanian-Teutonic War (1409-1411) was one of the most important battles in Medieval Europe, and the largest battle to involve knights.
